All aboard for a special day dedicated to train fun! Families are invited to drop in to meet local model train enthusiasts and collectors from Chicagoland T-Trak. See their innovative track layouts and learn about the hobby and how model trains work. No registration required, all ages welcome.

Ring in the holiday season with Elmhurst's annual celebration of the city's German roots. Listen to traditional carols performed by the Damenchor and Mannerchor authentic German choirs. Jolly Old St. Nick joins the festivities to explain his legendary story and pose for photos with guests. Kids are encourage to wear their pajamas, and hot cocoa and sweet treats will be served after the performance. Cash donations for the Yorkfield Food Pantry Giving Tree are gratefully accepted. No registration required, all ages welcome.
The Legend of St. Nicholas: Before there was Santa Claus, there was St. Nicholas, known as the bearer of gifts. On December 6th many Europeans celebrate St. Nicholas Day, and many Christmas traditions have evolved from this feast day. St. Nicholas was a 4th-century Greek saint who was admired for being kind and helping those in need. He was renowned for secretly giving gifts and placing coins and food in the shoes of the needy, which led to the modern-day holiday tradition of the Christmas stocking.

Hop aboard for a free showing of the popular animated film, The Polar Express, on the big screen at York Theatre! Based on the beloved children's book by Chris Van Allsburg, the movie takes viewers on a magical Christmas Eve adventure to the North Pole with a young boy who learns about the spirit of Christmas. Kids can get a free engineer's cap while supplies last! After the movie, stop by Elmhurst City Centre plaza across the street to see the festive holiday display, take photos with Santa, and hear holiday music. Visit the Elmhurst History Museum booth to snap a Polar Express picture and pick up a "golden ticket" and coloring sheet. Rated G, no registration required.
