View the History Spotlight in the second floor hallway that showcases special objects and photos from the museum’s collection that currently features items from Elmhurst’s airport.

The World War I Flying Ace debuted in 1965, and the character has become one of most recognizable Peanuts personas. This new traveling exhibit from the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center in Santa Rosa, CA tells the full story of the charismatic and beloved character from its early origins to Schulz’s detailed WWI research. Learn about this favorite Peanuts storyline through reproductions of Schulz’s original comic strip artwork; WWI artifacts, film, rare collectibles, photos and more.

Join in the fun for the 22nd Annual Museum Day in Elmhurst, a special event commemorating the important cultural value of museums to communities. Jump on board the Explore Elmhurst trolley to visit Elmhurst History Museum, Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art, and Elmhurst Art Museum for free admission, activities, exhibit tours, refreshments, and more.

Read It’s Ok To Be Different by Todd Parr as you walk along Elmhurst's popular “Playground for Everyone.” Bring a picnic blanket for a storytime at the playground and add your artistic touch to a community weaving project. It’s sure to be an afternoon of fun that celebrates inclusion and friendship. No registration required.
