The comic fantasy Monstrous Regiment is an adaptation of the best-selling 2003 Discworld novel, which premiered to great praise at Chicago’s Lifeline Theatre in 2014. The play is a wickedly funny look at the absurdities of war and the ambiguities of identity as our heroine, Polly Perks, must disguise herself as a young man to join the army in the search for her missing brother. In her quest, she soon discovers that she’s not alone in protecting a secret and that nothing in war is as it seems.
