Love Supreme

Elmhurst Art Museum's Exhibition: A Love Supreme - Through April 28th

This solo exhibition by designer Norman Teague is inspired by legendary jazz musician John Coltrane. Teague uses Coltrane’s album “A Love Supreme” as a personal, cultural, and spiritual touchstone to consider design influences from his life-long home in Chicago, exploring how the power of bold improvisational jazz and unapologetic Black aesthetics have expanded the minds and inspired creative communities of color. The exhibit celebrates a variety of jazz and jazz-influenced influences on Chicago design and will include key musical performances throughout its run.

Art in the Park

27th Annual Art in Wilder Park - May 4th through May 5th  at 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Be a part of this annual tradition in Elmhurst! As the first outdoor festival in the region each year, Art in Wilder Park is a highly anticipated Spring event in Chicago’s western suburbs. Last year’s event included over 130 booths, of one-of-a-kind art, food vendors, and hands-on kid’s activities and drew over 11,500 visitors. In 2023 the two-day event was voted one of the Best in the West, featured in numerous press outlets, and attracted nearly half of its visitors from outside Elmhurst. Discoverable on the weekend of the 27th Annual Art in Wilder Park will be a newly commissioned public art installation of life-sized monsters drawn by cartoonist Dave Pryor inspired by children’s drawings.
